Dental and vision

Caring for your employees’ oral and eye health

Routine dental and eye exams are vital to detect diseases such as periodontal disease and glaucoma, as well as signs of other serious conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. We help keep employees healthy and productive by offering health plans for small businesses that include dental and vision coverage.

Dental coverage

When you select a HAP health plan, you can add high-quality dental coverage through our partnership with Delta Dental. There are two options for purchasing dental benefits:

  • ACA-mandated pediatric-only coverage. Pediatric dental is an essential health benefit under the Affordable Care Act and is required for children age 18 or younger.
  • Optional adult coverage. This coverage is for all adults age 19 and older on a health plan. It includes pediatric dental coverage for children age 18 and under; however, adults without children will not be charged the pediatric plan premium.

Vision coverage

All HAP plans include an annual eye exam - at no additional cost -from a vast network of eye care professionals. Your vision just got better with EyeMed and expanded access to a nation-wide network of doctors for routine eye care needs. Simply visit hap.org/eyedoctor for routine visits.

HAP members can access their vision benefit coverage information through the HAP Member portal. For a medical/surgical vision doctors, visit hap.org/find-a-doctor.

Corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses are covered once every 12 months when prescribed by and purchased from an EyeMed-participating ophthalmologist (including online options).
