Henry Ford Health System announces new President and CEO of Health Alliance Plan

Detroit – Teresa (Terri) L. Kline, a seasoned health care insurance executive, has been selected as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of HAP and Executive Vice President of Henry Ford Health System. She will join the health system on Nov. 21.

"With Terri's blend of payer and provider experience in insurance, managed care and provider environments, and her deep knowledge of health care market dynamics and regulations, she is a great fit to lead HAP," notes Wright Lassiter, III, president of Henry Ford Health System. "Terri excels at understanding and responding to the needs of health plan members, and has a history of partnering with providers and payers to do what is in the best interest of the community."

For the past two years, Terri has led her own firm in Atlanta, Ga., providing strategic consulting, due diligence, and interim management services. Prior to that, she was the Senior Vice President and Chief Health Care Management Officer for Health Care Service Corporation, the fourth largest U.S. health insurer.

Terri's leadership experience spans 30 years, and she has served as CEO of CHA Health, President and CEO of UnitedHealthcare of Georgia, and Regional Vice President of Aetna Health Plans in the Southeast, where she managed 25 percent of Aetna's group health business, which included 3.4 million members and $1.5 billion in revenue.

A native of Michigan, Terri received her master's in public health from the University of Michigan and her bachelor's degree in biology from Kalamazoo College.
