HAP Medicare Advantage dental coverage with Delta Dental
HAP Medicare Advantage HMO1, HMO-POS1 and PPO2 plans cover the following preventive dental services per year:
- Two dental exams
- Two cleanings
- Two fluoride treatments
- One brush biopsy
- A set of bitewing x-rays
Comprehensive services such as root canals, fillings, simple extractions, crowns and crown repairs are also covered.
You have access to the Delta Dental Medicare Advantage PPO™ network. You may also be eligible for coverage when traveling outside of Michigan. To learn more, call the customer service number on the back of your HAP insurance card. Our customer service representatives are available Oct. 1 through March 31 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week or April 1 through Sept. 30 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday - Friday.

If you are looking for additional dental coverage, HAP and Delta Dental partnered to provide an option. The following plans may purchase additional dental coverage: HAP Medicare Connect (HMO), HAP Medicare MedicalAccess (HMO), HAP Senior Plus Henry Ford Tiered Access (HMO), HAP Medicare Superior (HMO), HAP Senior Plus (HMO-POS), HAP Medicare Prime (PPO), HAP Senior Plus (PPO) and HAP Medicare Explore (PPO). Call the customer service number on the back of your HAP insurance card to learn more. Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Dental/Vision Packages
With a HAP Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan, you have three options for additional dental/vision coverage – MS50, MS70 and MS100. Our dental/vision buy-up packages include one vision exam and a $175 allowance for vision hardware such as contact lenses, frames or glasses. If you didn’t purchase a buy-up package but would like to, you can add it within 30 calendar days of your effective plan date by calling customer service at (800) 873-7526 (TTY: 711). Customer service is available Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If you purchased a buy-up package, you will receive a separate ID card from Delta Dental and EyeMed.

1HAP Medicare Advantage HMO and HMO-POS plans: Services received from a nonparticipating dentist are not covered. You will be responsible for the full cost of the services.
2HAP Medicare Advantage PPO plans: Services received from a nonparticipating dentist may result in higher out-of-pocket costs. You will be responsible for the difference between Delta Dental’s payment and the amount charged by the nonparticipating dentist.

Health Alliance Plan (HAP) has HMO, HMO C-SNP, HMO-POS, and PPO plans with Medicare contracts. HAP Medicare Complete Duals (HMO D-SNP), HAP Medicare Complete Assist (PPO D-SNP), and HAP CareSourceTM MI Coordinated Health (HMO D-SNP) are Medicare health plans with a Medicare contract and a contract with the Michigan Medicaid Program that provides benefits of both programs to enrollees. Enrollment depends on contract renewals.
