Over-the-counter and flex benefits

Coming in 2026: Flex+ Rewards

Beginning January 2026, your flex card benefits and healthy living rewards will be on one card with the HAP Flex+ Rewards prepaid Visa® card. Your new card will arrive in the mail in December.

After December 31, 2025, your prepaid benefits Mastercard® will no longer work.

With your flex benefit, you’ll get a set amount added to your Flex+ Reward card every month or quarter, depending on your plan. You can use your card at your favorite stores including Costco, Kroger, Meijer, Walgreens, Walmart and more. If you’d rather shop from the comfort of your home, an online catalog option will be available. Look for the HAP 2026 over-the-counter catalog to arrive in your mailbox after your card arrives.

Sample items include:

  • Allergy, cold and flu medications
  • First aid such as band aids or antibiotic ointment
  • Pain relievers
  • Personal care items
  • Vitamins and supplements

Depending on your plan, you may be able to use your Flex+ Rewards card for other benefit services such as copays. Check your plan’s Evidence of Coverage to see what is covered.

You’ll be able to activate your card, check your card balance and view all of the ways you can spend your funds on the HAP Member Portal.

In addition, your Healthy Living Rewards will be added to your HAP Flex+ Rewards prepaid Visa® card. You’ll earn big rewards in 2026 for doing simple, healthy things like maintaining a healthy blood pressure, completing your Annual Wellness Visit, completing screenings and more.
