Healthy living guidelines

The right health care at the right time

Prevention is important in helping you and your family stay as healthy as possible. Prevention means getting the right health care and services at the right time. This includes getting the best information on wellness that your doctor or health care provider (doctor, nurse, etc.) recommends. These can include getting a mammogram, blood tests, immunizations, and education on safety such as seat-belt use and wearing helmets for outdoor activities.

These guidelines are based on medical research and evidence to help you and your doctor make sure you get the best care possible.

HAP works closely with the Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium, also known as MQIC, where health plans sit together to research, develop, and update the guidelines using the best evidence available.
