Ready, Set, Cook! Healthy Eating is Kid Stuff

ready set cook helps kids eat healthier 

Children who learn healthy eating habits and food-prep skills early are more likely to maintain these habits as adults. To help support the initiative, HAP has teamed with FOX 2 Detroit to demonstrate HAP’s Ready, Set, Cook! program and the principles of eating well and a healthy lifestyle.

Chef Kristi Zebrowski supervises the kid-friendly recipe demonstrations, which air on FOX 2 Detroit every other Saturday morning. Chef Kristi’s recipes inspire kids and adults to eat healthier, use fewer processed, sugary foods and make their own healthy food at home more often. These small lifestyle changes can help families improve their health as well as their budget.

The next segment airs July 16 from 7 to 8 a.m., when Chef Kristi and her HAP junior chef will show viewers how to make a healthy grilled cheese sandwich.

Ready, Set Cook! is built on the foundation of 5-2-1-0. Learn what these four important numbers are, and how they can help build healthy habits for you and your family.
