Expansion reflects commitment to Northern Michigan community

Traverse City, MI — June 17, 2026 — Health Alliance Plan by Henry Ford Health today opened its new office in Traverse City at 509 E. Front Street, a major milestone in its continued statewide expansion and a reaffirmation of its commitment to serving its members, customers and local communities across Northern Michigan. 

“Opening our new office in Traverse City is a tangible reflection of our deep, long-term commitment to this community and our ongoing investment in its future,” said Margaret Anderson, president of Health Alliance Plan. “We’ve taken a thoughtful, deliberate approach to growing our provider network in this region, most recently with the 2025 addition of Wexford PHO, which includes Munson Healthcare and Munson Medical Center.”

The Wexford PHO expansion added eight Northern Michigan hospitals, more than 700 physicians and ancillary services (diagnostic and support services such as imaging and different types of therapies) to the Health Alliance Plan network. Wexford PHO is based in Cadillac, while Traverse City-based Munson Healthcare covers 29 counties in Northern Michigan.

The organization recently announced it is now Health Alliance Plan by Henry Ford Health, more clearly reflecting the organization’s 40-year integration with Henry Ford Health. With coverage and care working together, Health Alliance Plan members experience fewer administrative barriers, better coordinated care and improved outcomes by reducing friction between provider and insurer. With access to the Henry Ford Health network, Health Alliance Plan translates proven approaches to inform plan offerings that create a more connected, effective and affordable experience for members, whether they receive care at Henry Ford Health or elsewhere within the plan’s broad statewide network, which includes 96% of providers across the lower peninsula.
