ACHP Welcomes New Member Health Alliance Plan

Washington, D.C. - The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) is growing its network of nonprofit, community-based, provider-aligned health plans. The organization announced that Health Alliance Plan (HAP), a subsidiary of Henry Ford Health System, has joined ACHP as its newest member.

For more than 50 years, Detroit-based HAP has provided high quality health coverage and care to individuals and organizations across Michigan. When it comes to customer service, J.D. Power ranked HAP highest in member satisfaction among health plans in the Michigan region in 2017, a distinction HAP has held nine out of the last 10 years. NCQA rated the plan's commercial product a 4 in consumer satisfaction in the 2017-2018 ratings. In addition, the plan uniquely partners with providers and community groups to improve the wellbeing of its members, offering programs beyond the role of a traditional health plan including discounts for wellness activities, community events and digital tools.

"We are thrilled to welcome Health Alliance Plan to ACHP," said ACHP President and CEO Ceci Connolly. "HAP's excellent customer service and exceptional resources exemplify the priority our plans place on improving health outcomes. We look forward to collaborating with HAP as it leads its community to better health."

HAP President and CEO Terri Kline will serve on the ACHP Board of Directors."HAP is pleased to become a member of ACHP," said Kline. "Although Michigan has a healthy insurance market, we believe that working closely with other health plans and providers from around the country gives us even more depth as we compare best practices and continue to advocate for stability and affordability of coverage for consumers."
