HAP congratulates Marc Vanderburg as Crain's 2021 Notable LGBTQ in Business recipient
Here at HAP, we’re dedicated to diversity and inclusion. It’s seen in our team, our health plans and our outreach. So, when we had the opportunity to nominate an individual for Crain’s Detroit Business 2021 Notable LGBTQ in Business award, we couldn’t pass on honoring one of our own.
Marc Vanderburg, HAP Vice President, Retention and Sales Operations, has worked with us for 13 years. In that time, he has driven great impact for HAP. He’s led a 60-member team. He’s managed $1.2 billion in revenue. And he’s supported both central market growth and diversity committees for the Henry Ford Health System.
Vanderburg is also committed to Metro Detroit’s LGBTQ+ community. He is deeply invested in the Ruth Ellis Center (REC) and serves as the Development Committee Chair, working in partnership with the Center’s Development team to raise the critical funding necessary to sustain its programs and services.. Founded in 1999, REC has established a national reputation for quality and innovation in providing trauma-informed services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth, and young adults experiencing barriers housing, health and wellness.
Marc’s other community involvement includes past work with the AIDS Walk Detroit for 12 years, where he also served as vice president of their board. He also served on the board for Life Directions, Inc. and is a graduate of Leadership Detroit 35.
Marc truly embodies this award in business and outreach. Please join us in congratulating him!
Like Marc, HAP will continue to advocate for diversity and inclusion. We’re proud of Marc for being a great example. We’re proud of all Crain’s award nominees. And we’re proud of all HAP team members who inspire change.
