HAP’s COO Matt Walsh Talks Merger, Innovation and His Running Goals

Matt Walsh, HAP’s senior vice president and chief operating officer, recently attended the 2016 Mackinac Policy Conference. In this podcast with MLive, he talks about:

– HAP’s merger with HealthPlus of Michigan

– Innovative and personalized health care

– How strong relationships with providers benefits HAP members    

Walsh also shares that running is one of his personal fitness goals for this year. He’s training to run the 40th annual HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races.

“I’m so excited that we’re going to get to be the presenting sponsor for that,” he says. “It’s a bit of a debate whether I’m going to be able to do the 10-mile (race) or just the 5K. But we’re thrilled about it.”
