Save money with the Genesys Choice network

Genesee County residents have access to high-quality health care close to home from the Genesys Physician Hospital Organization. As part of the Genesys Choice network, you can save money on monthly premiums and get the care you need.

What is the Genesys Choice network?

The Genesys Choice network includes doctors and facilities that are part of the Genesys Physician Hospital Organization, as well as health care facilities affiliated with Genesys Regional Medical Center. The Genesys Choice network is open to residents and small businesses in Genesee County.

Working with doctors from a Choice network allows us to lower your costs. In comparison to our full HMO network, you could save up to 20 percent.1 Because your doctors work closely with others in the same network, we can streamline your care and medical records.

How does my health care work in the network?

Your primary care doctor will be part of the Genesys Physician Hospital Organization and will coordinate care with other doctors within the Genesys system.

If you need specialty care, you’ll be referred to a specialist within the Genesys system. In the rare event you need to see a specialist outside the Genesys system, your doctor will work with us to get a referral to a specialist from one of several area hospitals, including:

  • C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital
  • Henry Ford Hospital
  • Hurley Medical Center
  • University of Michigan Hospital2

Use our Find a Doctor tool to find your primary care doctor within the Genesys Choice network.

What Genesys facilities are included in the network?

Some of the facilities in the Genesys Choice network include:

  • Ascension Genesys Regional Medical Center (Grand Blanc)
  • Ascension Genesys Urgent Care Center (Burton)

Before you schedule an appointment, make sure the doctor accepts your coverage. Some facilities may include doctors who aren’t part of the Genesys Choice network.

What if I need emergency or urgent care?

All HAP health plans, including Genesys Choice plans, cover any emergency care at a hospital. Once you are stabilized, you will be transferred to Genesys Regional Medical Center if necessary.

If you have a medical situation that isn’t life-threatening, you can get help fast at a Genesys Choice network after-hours or urgent care center.

What if I have more questions?

We’re happy to answer them. Contact us for more information about the Genesys Choice network.
