PPO: Getting to know a PCP
A personal care physician (PCP) is an Alliance-affiliated physician you can select to coordinate your medical care. Alliance designates the following provider types as PCPs:
- Family Practice
- Geriatric Medicine
- Internal Medicine
The Role of a PCP
While you do not have to select a PCP, we encourage you to do so. A PCP will help guide you through the medical system and coordinate medical treatment.
You do need to receive all preventive care from in-plan providers. If you choose to receive any preventive services from an out-of-plan provider, these services will not be covered and you will be responsible for payment.
Finding a PCP
You can find PCP and other provider profiles by using the Provider Search and PCP Select tool. This tool is available to all enrollees online, 24 hours a day/seven days a week.
Client Services Specialists are available toll-free at (888) 999-4347 for assistance in selecting a PCP.
