EPA: Getting to know your PCP
A personal care physician (PCP) is an Alliance-affiliated physician you must select to coordinate your medical care. Alliance designates the following provider types as PCPs:
- Family Practice
- Geriatric Medicine
- Internal Medicine
The Role of Your PCP
You do need to receive all preventive care from your PCP. Your PCP will help guide you through the medical system and coordinate medical treatment. This means that he/she will direct you for medically necessary specialty care.
Finding a PCP
You can select a PCP based on your needs. You may want to select a PCP located near your work, while a physician close to school or home is better for your children.
We have convenient options available for you to search for and select a PCP.
You can find PCP and other provider profiles by using the Provider Search and PCP Select tool. This tool is available to all enrollees online, 24 hours a day/seven days a week.
Client Services Specialists are available toll-free at (888) 999-4347 for assistance in selecting a PCP.
