National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Prevention and early detection of disease are the keys to keeping you healthy, and HAP would like to make sure you receive all of the care you need.

Early detection tests for breast cancer save thousands of lives each year, and many more lives could be saved if more of these tests were taken advantage of by members. According to the American Cancer Society, women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram (x-ray) and breast exam every one to two years by a health professional. Following these guidelines could improve the chances that breast cancer may be diagnosed at an early stage and treated successfully.

In addition to the health benefit of having your mammogram, as a member, you will be entered automatically into a drawing for a $100 Target gift card or Apple® iPad™ once you've had your mammogram! HAP will be drawing 10 monthly winners to receive a $100 gift card and one monthly winner to receive an Apple® iPad™ from the pool of women who have had their mammogram in 2010! Drawings will be held October 2010 through January 2011.
