We're So Active, Even Our Technology Moves

HAP has never been a company to advocate a sedentary lifestyle. We apply that philosophy to our technology, too. We're always listening to our members and enhancing our services. For instance, we recently launched a new mobile site, a new health library and emergency travel assistance. If you haven't checked them out already, here's the latest:

HAP is mobile!

Sprain your ankle at a family gathering on the other side of town? Where's the nearest HAP-affiliated urgent care center? Answering that is now easier than ever.

If you have a smart phone, iPad® or Tablet, just type hap.org into your search browser and the new mobile site will instantly optimize to your device.

You'll find a provider search application, so you can look up doctors and facilities (including urgent care centers). You'll also find a "contact us" link, as well as a link to the entire hap.org site and our new emergency travel services partner, Assist America.

Naturally, because we're always listening, the mobile site also includes a "survey" tab. After you've used the site, let us know what you think.

Read All About It with the New Health Library on hap.org.

How many calories did I burn while exercising as dinner cooked? What questions should I ask my doctor about surgery? How do I use a metered-dose inhaler? What's Ichthyosis Hystrix Gravior? Now you can find out, all in one place, with our new online Health Library. Browse A-to-Z for health information.  Use our interactive tools to check calories burned or calculate BMI for you or your child.  Use the handy online "symptom checker" and much more.

Log on at hap.org, choose the Health & Wellness tab, link to Tools and Resources, then choose Health Library

Out of Town? You've Got Help from HAP.

If you're traveling and become ill, there can be many consequences. You may be traveling with children who need care, a rental car may need to be returned, flights may need to be rescheduled. You may even need to be flown to a location that can provide appropriate medical care. For emergencies like these, HAP brings you Assist America, a new value-added service for HAP members. Assist America provides global emergency medical services when you're more than 100 miles from home or in another country. All members recently received an Assist America ID card. Keep your Assist America card in your wallet when you travel and, when needed, contact them toll-free at (800) 872-1414 in the U.S. or +1-609-986-1234 internationally. Visit assistamerica.com/hap to read the full service descriptions/limitations.
