Will my rate ever change?

Rates are filed and approved through Michigan’s regulatory agency and approved on an annual basis. Outside of the formal rate approval process, members could experience an increase or decrease to their rates if any of the following occur:

  • The family composition changes - new dependents are added or removed from the contract
  • The member moves to a new geographic location
  • The member switches plans due to a life event and the plan premiums are higher/lower than initial plan
