What you need to know about the COVID-19 vaccine, your HAP coverage, and getting care during the pandemic.

Why am I getting new member ID cards? Do I need to do anything?

We recently changed some of the codes on our cards. We sent new ID cards to all members to make sure your doctor and pharmacist have the right information to submit your claims. Be sure to show your new card at your first visit to the pharmacy this year.

Here are some other common questions you might have:

Q: I received a card in the mail but didn’t get one for my kid(s)?
A: We no longer send cards to child dependents under age 18. You can show your card at your child’s doctor’s office. Or you can pull up a digital ID card for your child by logging in at hap.org or through our HAPontheGo app which you can download for free from iTunes or Google Play. You can also get an additional copy of your card by calling customer service.

Q: I logged in or used the app and don’t see my 2019 cards yet?
A: Your new card(s) will automatically display in your member account when you log in at hap.org and in the HAPontheGo app starting January 1, 2019.

Q: My new card says HAP Empowered. What is that?
A: Your HAP Midwest plan is now called HAP Empowered. Nothing has changed except the name. For more information visit hap.org/empowered.
