Bio:
Catherine L. Cooper is Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Health Alliance Administrators, Inc., an independent Managing General Agent for HAP. She has more than 22 years of insurance industry experience and was recently awarded the National Association of Health Underwriters' Legislative Excellence Award for her work on behalf of Michigan insurance agents. She received a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Michigan State University and is Immediate Past President of the Michigan Association of Health Underwriters (MAHU) and the Legislative Chair for the Metro Detroit Association of Health Underwriters (MDAHU).

Rory Lafferty - Director, Government Affairs

Bio:
Rory Lafferty is director of Government Affairs at HAP. Active in health policy at the state and national level, Rory is a member of the Michigan Association of Health Plan's Legislative Committee and participates in several policy workgroups within America's Health Insurance Plans. Prior to joining HAP, Rory worked for the Michigan Legislature as a legislative aide and legislative policy analyst. He received a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Central Michigan University. He serves as Board Secretary on the Plymouth Scholars Charter Academy.

Alice MacDermott, JD, MPA - Vice President, Associate General Counsel

Bio:
Alice MacDermott is Vice President, Associate General Counsel at HAP. Prior to joining HAP in 2011, she served as Associate General Counsel for the University of Michigan, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and SelectCare, Inc. She received her law degree from Boston College Law School, a master's in Public Administration from University of Michigan-Dearborn and a bachelor's degree from University of Detroit Mercy. Alice also earned a University of Michigan Lean Healthcare Certificate. She serves on the board of directors for Adult Well-Being Services.

Fun Facts:
Alice once worked for her brother's roofing company and has installed residential and commercial roofs. She is a Detroit Tigers fan and also enjoys fishing.


Joe Rivet - Director of Payment Integrity

Bio:
Joe Rivet is HAP's director of payment integrity. In this role, Joe oversees payment integrity operations. Previously, Joe worked for Henry Ford Health Systems and was director of fraud and abuse for Priority Health. He is certified in physician education, compliance, and payment policy

Fun Facts:
Joe has written and published two books. He has also formally trained and competed in Judo.
