Michigan Chronicle Names HAP Employee Shanise Bell as 40 Under 40 Honoree for 2017
DETROIT – Feb. 15, 2017 – Shanise Bell of Health Alliance Plan (HAP) is one of the Michigan Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 honorees. Her application was chosen from more than 400 nominations submitted for the Michigan Chronicle 40 Under 40 class of 2017. The winning roster ranges from oncology surgeons to state representatives. These individuals make contributions to the region’s economy, civic dialog and community advancement.
“It’s truly humbling to be recognized for my work. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my HAP team,” said Bell, 33, director of business transformation for HAP. “They’re the ones cheering me on, pushing me and inspiring me to be the best I can be.”
Bell’s achievements include the overhaul of HAP’s annual portfolio planning process and the development of an organizational resource capacity planning methodology to support it. She focused in these areas to build greater transparency and accountability for major projects within the organization. Bell’s outstanding leadership managing HAP’s Corporate Portfolio of Strategic Initiatives/Projects and LEAN process improvement services largely contributes to HAP’s ability to add value, reduce inefficiencies and achieve the highest business performance.
While at HAP, Bell has earned three promotions within a six-year period, starting as an associate project manager, and then working her way up to senior project manager before earning her current role as director of business transformation.
Prior to HAP, Bell worked at a big five strategic consulting firm on applications and product implementation with high-profile clients such as Dow Chemical and Timken.
“Shanise has been a major contributor to the development of HAP’s 2017 strategic plan,” said Faisal Khan, assistant vice president of business transformation, HAP. “She has helped define business cases for corporate strategic initiatives and works tirelessly to implement continuous improvement initiatives to help HAP be even stronger.”
The Michigan Chronicle is set to recognize Bell, along with the other 40 under 40 honorees, at an event in the upcoming weeks.
Since 2012, the Michigan Chronicle has recognized bright and innovative young professionals who continue to make an impact in their field and in southeast Michigan. Those chosen have exhibited outstanding achievement, great vision and strong leadership in their respected professions.
