Health Alliance Plan Expects to Grow and Expands Independent Agent Sales and Servicing

DETROIT – July 17, 2012 – Health Alliance Plan (HAP) selected Health Alliance Administrators, Inc. (HAA) as Managing General Agent for HAP and Alliance Health and Life group (2-99) and HAP Personal Alliance individual products. HAA will be open for business and group sales quoting in August. HAP Personal Alliance quoting and support will begin in September.

"HAA opens an expansive new sales channel for HAP, enabling our company to reach hundreds of independent producers who represent thousands of potential new customers," said Mark Hall, HAP vice president, Commercial Sales and Service. "HAA's team of experienced, reputable professionals can help small groups and individuals navigate the maze of health insurance choices to find workable solutions to today's cost challenges."

At a time when other health insurance companies are reducing their focus on producers and the value they bring to carriers, HAP will continue to support this important sales channel. HAP will retain all agent compensation administration and contracting oversight.

In a complex environment in which independent agents often have to do more with less resources, HAA can perform cumbersome administrative tasks, freeing the agents to focus on sales and growing their businesses. Services include: administrative support functions such as quoting, training, marketing, enrollment, and post-enrollment service functions. Agents can expect the highest level of service and personal attention from the HAP-HAA partnership.
