Health Alliance Plan Employees Raise More than $12,000 to Support Alzheimer's Research, Care and Programs
DETROIT -- September 21, 2011 -- Health Alliance Plan (HAP) leaders, employees and their family members have raised more than $12,000 to support efforts to eliminate a disease that affects more than 5.3 million Americans and 75,000 in metropolitan Detroit.
More than 80 HAP employees and their family members participated in the 20th Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's at The Detroit Zoo on August 27. HAP was a platinum sponsor of the 2K fun walk to support education, training, adult daycare services, advocacy, and support group services to residents with Alzheimer's disease and their families in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Sanilac and St. Clair counties.
HAP was also the presenting sponsor of the 2nd Annual Alzheimer's Memorial Charity Golf Tournament this summer at the Coyote Preserve Golf Club in Fenton, Mich. In all, HAP's 2011 contributions exceeded $12,000.
