HAP Welcomes Derick Adams as Vice President, Human Resources
DETROIT -- January 6, 2011 -- Health Alliance Plan (HAP) is pleased to welcome Derick Adams as vice president, Human Resources beginning January 17, 2011.
Adams will report to David Scott, HAP senior vice president and chief operating officer, and will be responsible for all aspects of Human Resources strategy and operations for HAP.
"Derick will bring a wealth of talent and experience to the Health Alliance Plan Human Resource team," Scott said. "He will be an outstanding addition to a leadership team that is committed to excellence in organizational performance, customer service and employee engagement."
As a Governor's appointee to the Council for Labor and Economic Growth (CLEG) and a member of the CLEG Executive Committee, Adams has participated in the development and continuous improvement of a Statewide Workforce Investment System for Michigan. He also brings significant knowledge and experience in optimizing organizational performance and nurturing a winning culture through talent acquisition, development, rewards and leadership strategies that drive high levels of employee engagement and corporate results.
Adams joins HAP from Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company in Farmington Hills, Michigan where he serves as Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to joining Amerisure Mutual in 1994, Adams held leadership positions at Comerica Bank, State Street Bank and Trust Company and Key Bank.
A resident of West Bloomfield, Michigan, Adams holds a juris doctorate from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit and a bachelor's degree in Agriculture and Business Management from Cornell University in New York. He serves as the Executive Board Chairman of House of Prayer and Praise Ministries and is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan Human Resource Committee.
