Health Alliance Plan Members Rank HAP Highest in Member Satisfaction in J.D. Power and Associates Study

HAP ranked highest in member satisfaction among Michigan Commercial health plans two years in a row

DETROIT – June 8, 2009 – Health Alliance Plan members rated HAP "Highest in Member Satisfaction among Commercial Health Plans in Michigan," in the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 National Health Insurance Plan StudySM

"It's an honor to receive the prestigious J.D. Power award for the second year in a row," said William Alvin, president and CEO. The study measures seven key drivers of satisfaction within the members' overall health plan experience: Coverage and Benefits; Provider Choice; Information and Communication; Claims Processing; Statements; Customer Service; and Approval Processes.

HAP earned a five-star, "Among the Best" Power Circle Rating in four areas: Overall Experience, Coverage and Benefits, Information and Communication, and Customer Service.

The J.D. Power recognition follows the recent U.S. News and World Report/NCQA America's Best Health Plans designation of HAP's Medicare HMO as the top-ranked plan in Michigan and the Commercial HMO as among the best health plans in the nation.
