HAP Employees Bowl for Kids' Sake

DETROIT-March 14, 2008- BOWL FOR KIDS' SAKE: Health Alliance Plan (HAP) will join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit (BBBSMD) for its signature Bowl For Kids' Sake (BFKS) event on Saturday May 3, 2008 at Sterling Lanes in Sterling Heights, MI from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HAP Vice President of Client Services and Board Member of BBBSMD, Richard  D. Chaney, expressed that HAP employees have a great time every year with BBBSMD.  Employees form bowling teams, collect pledges, and generate fundraisers for this event, such as a Yard Sale and Smoothie Sale.  HAP is also a corporate sponsor of the event this year.

"I am thrilled with the outpouring of sportsmanship from HAP employees," Chaney said.  "BFKS represents a tremendous opportunity for HAP to build team spirit while helping children in the Metro Detroit area. Our employees also volunteer as BBBSMD mentors, and find spending a few hours a month with their "Littles" extremely rewarding. They can really see the difference they're making in the lives of the children."

HAP has always been a company that cares about its community; BFKS is one of the many ways HAP gives back.  BBBSMD's goal this year is to raise 5,000.  The funds raised go directly toward recruiting, enrolling and pairing volunteers with children who need them most.  The more donations we receive, the more services our agency can provide for children in the community.

Participants are eligible to earn great prizes based on the amount of dollars that they collect, such as hotel stays and gift certificates.  To sign up today call 248-569-0600 ext #227 or check us out on the web, www.bbbsdetroit.org

BBBS is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States.  Celebrating over 100 years of service nationally and more than thirty years of service locally to the metropolitan Detroit community, BBBS maintains a stellar reputation of recruiting exemplary citizens to share positive experiences with metropolitan Detroit youth.
