Kim E. Schatzel, Ph.D., Eastern Michigan University
Kim Schatzel, Ph.D. currently serves as Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Eastern Michigan University. In this position, she serves as Chief Academic Officer for the university as well as its Chief Operating Officer with primary oversight of the university's $290 million annual budget.
Prior to this position, Dr. Schatzel served as dean of the University of Michigan-Dearborn College of Business as well as various other administrative positions including interim dean, senior associate dean, and associate dean.
She has taught at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels, in the United States and internationally, on topics such as Marketing of Technology-Based Products, Obtaining Venture Capital Funding, and Reputation Management. She was recognized by the University of Michigan-Dearborn with the University's Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award.
With over twenty years of corporate, new venture, and start-up experience, Dr. Schatzel has held senior level executive positions with several technology and multinational industrial firms. She is a member of the Product Development and Management Association, American Marketing Association, Academy of Marketing Science and Academy of Management.
She received her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Michigan State University.
Dr. Schatzel was appointed to the HAP Board in 2013.
