Jack Martin, Board Chairperson, founded Martin, Arrington, Desai & Meyers, P.C., CPA and Consultants.
Governor Snyder appointed Martin to Detroit's Financial Review Team. He subsequently became Detroit's Chief Financial Officer and was also the Emergency Manager for Highland Park Schools. He served as CFO of the U.S. Department of Education under President George W. Bush. During his tenure the Department received three prestigious awards. Bush later appointed him Acting Director of the U.S. Selective Service System. Martin served Presidents Clinton and George H.W. Bush as Chairman of the Provider Reimbursement Review Board, Department of Health and Human Services.
His current board service includes: Community Foundation of Southeastern Michigan, Henry Ford Health System and the UAW Retirees Health and Welfare Trust.
Martin graduated from Cass Tech, and earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting and a master's degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University, subsequently receiving a Distinguished Alumnus Award. He also pursued postgraduate studies in Labor Economics at the University of Minnesota. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps.
Martin was appointed to the HAP Board in 2006.
