Raymond C. Lopé is co-owner of Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Homes, a 100-year+ establishment in Utica and Royal Oak, and recipient of the distinguished "Best of the Best" funeral homes by the National Funeral Directors Association.
He is a member of the HVI Council of Advisors and the Public Responsibility & Advocacy Committee for the Henry Ford Health System.
Lopé is a well-known Macomb County business leader and long-time member of the Board of Trustees of Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals. He is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and Chairperson of the Strategy and Growth Committee. Lope is also a member of the Hospital's Executive Committee, Macomb Nominating & Governance Committee and the Ambassador Club. He was recognized with a Medallion award in 1999 and the Tony Viviano Distinguished Achievement Award in 2012.
His commitment to the community extends beyond Henry Ford. He is a past president of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association District # 6; former member of the Pursuit of Excellence Committee with the National Funeral Directors Association; a founding member, current member and past president of the Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence; and a charter member and past president of the Gerald C. Friend Memorial Scholarship Trust Fund. He is the recipient of the 2011 Lil Adams Award from the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Lopé is a Utica/Shelby Rotary Club past president and Paul Harris Fellow award recipient and a member of the Pewabic Pottery Society, Trustee and Treasurer of the Macomb Oakland Guardianship and member of the St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus Council No. 2950. He received the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year Award in 1987.
Lopé holds a bachelor's degree from St Francis College in New York. Before joining Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Homes, he held several sales and marketing positions for Shell Oil in New York City.
