Jamie C. Hsu, Ph.D, Lawrence Technological University
Jamie Hsu, Ph.D. is Adjunct Professor of Management at Lawrence Technological University and a consultant on Strategic Management and Leadership Development.
Dr. Hsu previously served as Executive Director, Global Technology Management at General Motors, where he was responsible for establishing GM's global technology strategy and managing the portfolio of advanced programs; directing the development and implementation of advanced technology, and technology collaboration with suppliers, government, and academia; and directing global technology collaboration between GM North America, GM China, GM Daewoo, Suzuki, Subaru, Isuzu, and FIAT. His prior leadership roles at GM include Executive Director, R&D Center; Executive Director, Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center; and manager of various advanced manufacturing departments.
Dr. Hsu is an author and speaker on numerous topics related to strategic planning, advanced manufacturing technology, technology planning and implementation. He serves as Senior Advisor on Industry Policy, National R&D Agenda, and Strategic Programs for Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs and advisor to various Michigan Chinese and Taiwanese Organizations. He also serves as a board member for the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce. He received a LTU Best Teacher Award and a Diversity Leaders Award from Corp! Magazine.
He earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University and a master's degree and Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics from Brown University.
Dr. Hsu was appointed to the HAP Board in 2011.
