Derick Adams joined HAP in 2011 as Vice President, Human Resources. He is responsible for Human Resources strategy and operations.
As a Governor's appointee to the Council for Labor and Economic Growth (CLEG) and a member of the CLEG Executive Committee, he has participated in the development and continuous improvement of a Statewide Workforce Investment System for Michigan. He also has extensive knowledge and experience in optimizing organizational performance and nurturing a winning culture through talent acquisition, development, rewards and leadership strategies that drive high levels of employee engagement and corporate results.
Prior to joining HAP, Adams held leadership positions at Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company, Comerica Bank, State Street Bank and Trust Company and Key Bank. He holds a juris doctorate from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit and a bachelor's degree in Agriculture and Business Management from Cornell University in New York. He serves as the Executive Board Chairman of House of Prayer and Praise Ministries and is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan Human Resource Committee.
