Not all $0 Medicare Plans are Created Equal: See What HAP Has to Offer for 2020

You’re probably seeing ads for plans with $0 premiums. It’s natural to think, “At $0 a month, what’s the catch?” But the truth is $0 and “free” are two different things. There are still costs associated with these plans: your regular Part B premium, deductibles, copay and coinsurance. HAP is here designing $0 plans with you in mind. Check out what we have to offer:

Improved coverage for vision, dental and hearing

• $0 annual physical exam (one per calendar year) includes preventive health care measures
• $100 yearly allowance to help pay for glasses, frames and contact lenses
• $0 copay for preventive dental care
• Two hearing aids (one per ear) each year at a copay, not an allowance

Prescription and OTC Benefits

• Lower copays on prescriptions when preferred network pharmacy is used. Use a pharmacy in the Medicare Preferred Value Network to get the lowest copays. You can still use a non-preferred network pharmacy.
• $0 copay Tier 1 & Tier 2 for preferred mail-order 90-day supply.
• Up to $400/year allowance for over-the-counter items and medications such as aspirin, cough/cold medication, a scale, a blood pressure cuff and more. The best part? Items are delivered right to your doorstep.

Good to know

An extensive network. Use your coverage almost anywhere. HAP is accepted by thousands of doctors and most Michigan hospitals. Our Medicare Advantage plans have been designed with primary care doctors for better access to care.
Snowbird coverage. Visitor/travel benefit extends coverage to Arizona, Florida, Texas or Michigan (out of area) for up to six months (select HMO plans only).
Telehealth services. Now, you can save time and money by seeing a doctor on your computer, tablet or smartphone for as low as a $0 copay. Telehealth visits are available 24/7 and are a great alternative to driving to the doctor or urgent care for a minor illness or injury.

Bonus extras

A gym membership for $0 or access to home fitness kits. Through the Silver & Fit® exercise and healthy aging program, you can choose from a large network of fitness centers and classes to keep active. Or, if you’d rather work out at home, you can choose from a selection of more than 20 home fitness kits, which may include a DVD, booklet and a quick-start guide.
Wellness programs. We have tools to help keep your health on track. This includes instructor-led classes, nutrition and weight-management programs, tobacco intervention and more.
Identity theft protection. Members can securely register up to 10 credit or debit cards for 24/7 surveillance.
• Emergency travel assistance. Travel worry-free knowing that wherever you are you can call on Assist America 24/7.
