Speaker 1: When you shop for all kinds of stuff, you probably shop around. You want to find the best price, and make the most of every dollar. Well now, thanks to HAP, you can do that for healthcare services too. Introducing HAP's new Health Care Cost Estimator. This convenient online tool is available to HAP members. It helps you search for healthcare by treatment type, medical condition and more, and compare costs between different providers. It's personalized for you, which means it will show your costs, your deductible if you have one, and other plan details. It's quick, it's easy, and if you ever have to pay for healthcare services out of your own pocket, it could save you a lot of money. Start by going to hap.org/costestimator, and log in. Next, click on the Health Care Cost Estimator icon. Now you can choose to search for a specific healthcare treatment, procedure or service, or browse for a medical condition. First, you will choose who the service is for, yourself or a covered dependent. Then verify your starting location. Because the calculator is personalized for you, it will automatically start with your home address, but you can change the location and search area. For example, near your workplace, if you want to. Let's start by searching for a treatment, procedure, or service. Let's use a specific service such as shoulder repair. Note, if you enter the first few letters of a word, the tool will automatically display suggested words to save you a little typing time. If the service you are looking for automatically appears, just click on it. Otherwise, click "Show all" to see a full list of options. You can then choose the service you are looking for. The Healthcare Cost Estimator will display your estimated cost for this service from a range of nearby providers, based on your benefits, deductible, and other personal plan details. To compare facility costs, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "Compare Costs at a Facility Near You". Your results can be filtered to display only outpatient hospitals or offices, and you can sort them alphabetically, by distance, and cost. Which means no math, no guesswork, saving you time and potentially significant dollars. You can then click to learn more about a particular provider. Including details on the costs, and a map and address of the location. In this example, the deductible has been met. And here's an example of what you would see if you have not yet met your deductible. Personalized for you and your plan. It's that easy. This time, instead of searching by healthcare service, let's try browsing by medical condition. You start by clicking "Browse Medical Conditions" then make a few selections to filter your results. For example, select "Shoulder" under "Areas of the Body". Your results will display with the average total cost of each procedure. Simply click "Get your cost" to see your estimated cost for the selected procedure, and then choose your facility. Then click "Show Details" to see the cost for each phase of treatment. In this case, Evaluation, Surgery, and Follow-up, as well as the average recovery time. From here, you can also compare costs for facility types, like outpatient hospitals, or surgical centers near you. Then you can view cost for a particular provider. Whichever way you use it, the HAP Health Care Cost Estimator can help you find the right provider at the right cost for you. It's all about giving you easy access to the information you need to make informed, confident choices. If you're a HAP member, be sure to use the Health Care Cost Estimator the next time you need care. And if you're not a HAP member, it's just another great reason to choose HAP.
