Who can join
All Michigan residents who are entitled to Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Medicare Part B can choose Alliance Medicare Rx as their Medicare prescription drug plan. You can only be enrolled in one Medicare Part D plan at a time. If you are already enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan with Part D benefits, you do not need Alliance Medicare Rx.
Important information
Alliance Health and Life Insurance Company has a Medicare contract with the federal government to offer Medicare-approved plans. Our Medicare contract is renewed annually. The availability of coverage beyond the end of the contract year is not guaranteed. Please contact HAP for details.
Alliance Medicare Rx is a product of Alliance Health and Life insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Health Alliance Plan.
Prescriptions filled out-of-network will be covered only in limited situations, such as an emergency. Cost-sharing for drugs purchased out-of-network in an emergency may be higher. You can call us for details on how to submit a claim for out-of-network pharmacy services.
If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage HMO or PPO plan or Medicare Advantage PFFS (MA-PFFS) plan that includes Medicare prescription drugs, you may not enroll in a PDP unless you disenroll from the HMO, PPO, or MA-PFFS plan.
Enrollees in a PFFS plan that does not provide Medicare drug coverage or a Medicare Advantage Savings Account plan may enroll in a PDP.
Enrollees in an 1876 cost plan may enroll in a PDP.
