POS
Our POS program offers a variety of health care coverage options. Members can access care through their designated PCP or self-refer to any provider. Those who elect a PCP or receive care at the direction of their PCP receive the highest level of benefits. Members who self-refer still receive benefits for covered expenses, but are subject to higher deductibles and coinsurance. HAP requires advance notification by the member for all elective and emergency admissions.
Though members are not required to use HAP providers with the POS Program, most prefer to use their designated PCP. As a result, health care delivery is managed more efficiently and effectively.
ADVANTAGES OF OUR POS PROGRAM:
- Low out-of-pocket costs. Employees receive in-network preventive services for a small copayment.
- Coordinated care. Employees and their dependents have most, if not all, of their health care services managed by their designated HAP PCP.
- Self-referred benefits. Employees, if they choose, have the freedom to self-refer for care and receive a reduced level of benefits.
- Emergency coverage worldwide. Emergency care is available worldwide with the HAP identification card.
- Rate flexibility. This product can be community-rated, experience-rated or self-funded. Consult your HAP representative or your agent for advice about which rating method is best for your particular needs.
- Flexible cost sharing. Choose from several benefit designs to meet the desired level of cost sharing.
- Affinity discounts. Members receive preferred rates on services that are not covered benefits, including Weight Watchers®, LASIK (Laser in-situ Keratomileusis) procedures and Globalfit Fitness Solutions.
