Special Programs

  • Member Welcome/Customer Loyalty Program – For the first two years of membership new members are assigned a personal advocate –one who is dedicated to ensuring that they are properly informed and introduced to your plan benefits and coverage, programs and services. The personal advocate contacts new members by planned mailings, and telephone calls. New members can call or e-mail their personal advocate at any time. It's like having a friend walk with you through the first couple of years with us!
  • HAP Advantage - The HAP Advantage program offers member discounts and preferred rates on services that are not covered benefits, including Weight Watchers®,  LASIK (Laser in-situ Keratomileusis) procedures and discounts on membership rates at independent health clubs that participate in GlobalFit's national network. 
  • HAP's HealthTrack Disease Management Programs - HAP's disease management programs provides members that are living with chronic conditions information on living well. Our goal is to provide information that will help you make informed decisions about your health. We strongly urge you to discuss these materials with your PCP. HAP's HealthTrack helps you manage conditions such as:
    • Diabetes
    • Congestive heart failure
    • Asthma
    • Depression, and so much more!
  • HAP's In-Home Care Program - The In-Home Care Program is for our members who have chronic illnesses and difficulty managing them alone.  The program differs from traditional home care in that it provides additional treatment options not available in routine home care visits. 
  • iStrive - Get healthy-and get special rewards for doing so! HAP has partnered with HealthMedia to offer you iStrive for better health, a revolutionary health improvement program. Take an online health risk assessment and learn about healthy lifestyle programs. a plan will be created just for you with personalized strategies designed by healthcare professionals.
  • HAP WiseWoman Program – The WiseWoman program provides health education targeted to women in mid-life. Female members are automatically enrolled after their 35th birthday. Being a "HAP Wise Woman" means you'll receive a quarterly magazine designed to give you ideas on how to balance life's demands while remaining mentally and physically healthy. HAP Wise Women are also eligible to attend special educational events.
  • Prime Time Living - With HAP's Prime Time Living program, HAP's Medicare Advantage members enjoy the benefits of receiving quarterly magazines; attending an education series; an interactive presentation on healthy living; and group presentations that explain HAP Medicare Advantage products. You can also participate in HAP's Walk for Better Health.
  • Smoking Cessation - It "IS" possible to quit smoking! When a member makes the choice to quit smoking, we're here to help! Our HMO plan offers a smoking cessation benefit for the following smoking cessation programs:
    • Telephone counseling
    • Zyban
    • Nicotine replacement therapy such as the "patch" or gum

  • Coverage Advisor 
    Estimate your family's expected health utilization and costs over a given year; model estimated out-of-pocket costs by entering benefit parameters such as annual premium, copay amounts, deductibles, etc to make more informed choices regarding health plan options.
  • Healthcare Advisor
    As a member you have a network of educational resources to keep you informed about healthcare trends, treatment and cost options and more. HAP offers an online application-Healthcare Advisor-that contains valuable information on managing a condition, preparing for a procedure, questions to ask the doctor and health plan, and more.

    • Hospital Advisor
      Compare detailed procedure-specific hospital performance ratings and an illustrated on-line medical encyclopedia
    • PharmaAdvisor
      Review common pharmaceutical options for different conditions with drug comparisons among generics, major brands and therapeutic alternatives for more than 11,000 medications; includes side-by-side comparisons of the roles, actions, side effects, and adverse interactions of different drugs.
    • Treatment Cost Advisor
      Estimate out-of-pocket costs of specific healthcare services, tests, procedures and visits based on age, gender, location and other demographic info; includes side-by-side comparison of typical in-network and out-of-network costs to help budget and plan for treatment.

  • Managing Your Plan Online
    • Billing Assistance Tool - Online help if you have questions about a bill you've received from a HAP provider.
    • Claim Status - View the status of all claims that have been processed for you in the last 18 months.
    • Contracts and Riders - View benefit and rider agreements for yourself and dependents.
    • Coordination of Benefits - View and submit other insurance policy information online for any active member on your contract.
    • Customer Message Center - Ask a HAP Client Services specialist a question while working online. Send and receive secure messages within the HAP website.
    • Eligibility and Benefits - Review your eligibility and view your benefit and coverage information, including copays.
    • Request an ID Card - Replace a misplaced ID card. You will receive your new card in 5-7 business days.
    • Interactive Drug Search - Review prescription drug information specific to your benefits. View expected copay for any prescription drug, as well as generic alternatives, precautions and other details.
    • Member Health Reminders - View messages for health services and preventive screening that may be overdue.
    • My Provider Notebook - Create an address book for keeping contact information and your personal notes for providers and facilities.
    • Online Directories - Locate provider addresses and information, click on links to maps and driving directions. Create a customized directory. Data is updated nightly.
    • Pharmacy Claim History - View 18 months of your prescription history including out of pocket expenses and refill information.
    • Provider Search and PCP Select - Search for a provider using criteria important to you (specialty, location, gender, languages spoken), compare providers, view detailed provider information, use links to maps and change or select your PCP.
    • Referral Inquiry - View 18 months of your referral history. Check the status of any referral before visiting the specialist's office. Print a copy to take with you.
    • Young Adult Rider - Verify that your young adult aged 19-25 is still eligible for coverage using this tool. Available from September to November only.
