The National Medicare Bus Visits Detroit

DETROIT – The national Medicare bus, which is touring the country, will be in Detroit, 9 a.m. – noon, Monday, Oct. 2, at the Henry Ford Health System AIMHI Westside Health Resource Center located at 21551 Fenkell east of Lahser.

The bus is designed for seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries to have the opportunity for one-on-one counseling and enrollment assistance with the Part D prescription drug benefit. Open enrollment for Part D 2007 begins Nov. 15. The bus is a service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

In addition, the health resource center will be providing free blood pressure screening and stroke risk assessments.

Light refreshments will be available. No registration is necessary.
