We are pleased to announce an exciting new service that can save time and increase your efficiency. Through an agreement with ePocrates, the HAP drug formulary is now available on-line to be downloaded to your PDA handheld device (Palm OS handhelds such as Sony, Handspring, Palm with 3 MB available memory). This free service offers you a convenient way to access up-to-date formulary information whenever you need it. Using your PDA, you will be able to identify HAP formulary medications before you write a prescription.

ePocrates allows you to:

• Check for drug interactions
• Guard against adverse reactions and contraindications
• Determine adult and pediatric dosing
• Check for quantity limits
• Check for formulary alternatives and generic substitutions
• Determine copayment tiers
• Check on prior authorization requirements
• Reduce pharmacy callbacks

The basic service is free as a download from HAP and ePocrates. For more information about ePocrates and to download the HAP drug formulary, please visit www.ePocrates.com. You will be prompted to register and create a user ID and password. After you've registered, click on "Add Formularies" and follow website instructions. 

Hotsync your handheld for the HAP formulary to appear in your PDA. Thereafter, you can hotsync monthly to receive formulary updates.
