We are pleased to announce an exciting new service that can save time and increase your efficiency. Through an agreement with ePocrates, the HAP drug formulary is now available on-line to be downloaded to your PDA handheld device (Palm OS handhelds such as Sony, Handspring, Palm with 3 MB available memory). This free service offers you a convenient way to access up-to-date formulary information whenever you need it. Using your PDA, you will be able to identify HAP formulary medications before you write a prescription.
ePocrates allows you to:
- Check for drug interactions
- Guard against adverse reactions and contraindications
- Determine adult and pediatric dosing
- Check for quantity limits
- Check for formulary alternatives and generic substitutions
- Determine copayment tiers
- Check on prior authorization requirements
- Reduce pharmacy callbacks
The basic service is free as a download from HAP and ePocrates. For more information about ePocrates and to download the HAP drug formulary, please visit www.ePocrates.com. You will be prompted to register and create a user ID and password. After you've registered, click on "Add Formularies" and follow website instructions.
