HAP's Smoking Cessation Benefit
HAP is making it easier than ever to quit smoking. We offer smoking cessation benefit coverage to all HMO, POS, and Medicare / HAP Senior Plus members for any of the following smoking cessation programs:
- Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT): patch, gum, inhaler, nasal spray, and lozenges.
GEQ - drug is available as a generic equivalent, but is listed by its brand name
AHL - not a covered benefit for AHL members
QL - quantity limit applies

Chantix, Commit, Nicoderm, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT): Nicotine - (Gum; Lozenges; Patches), Nicotrol and Zyban:
- are available to members with a prescription drug rider.
- must be prescribed by a HAP-affiliated provider, and filled by a HAP-affiliated pharmacy.
- The usual office visit and prescription medication co-pays apply.
- Talk to your PCP and discuss available stop-smoking options.
