Low back pain may range from muscle ache, shooting or stabbing pain, limited flexibility, to an inability to stand straight. Engaging in activities that don't jolt or strain the back, maintaining correct posture, and lifting objects properly at home and in the workplace can greatly reduce the risk of back injury.
