Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary Artery Disease occurs when fatty deposits, also called plaque, build up inside the arteries of the heart. When there is a build up of plaque in the arteries, the arteries narrow and harden; this is known as Atherosclerosis. The narrowing of the arteries to the heart muscle reduces the amount of blood and oxygen that the heart receives.
